What's not to love about them? Hang on, didn't we have an aquatic challenge a while ago - you sure these aren't (very) late entries for that?

Yes Jim, please do show your built boat ! - I've seen that 4 pack; I noticed they were built pics for the box & not art; but I was planning to get that before I was able to get the ones I did & still go by the 1959 Ray Gaedke Artwork. As far as the railings are concerned, they were a little fiddly to do, I used evergreen but I'm sure there is photoetch or some better way to do them. I wanted to just do that minimal thing,( not go too friggin nuts, like doing rigging, etc. only cause the rails really showed on the box art & I thought would improve them & I was kinda going for a store display look) . Oh ... a couple other changes I made, On the Fireboat, I cut a front windshield that wasn't there,& drilled the portholes, and on all of them put in windows; using 5 minute epoxy ( I like it better than that Testors clear parts/window maker stuff)

Great Job Jim - cool details ... I love it !! - I could SEA ...uh ... see easily getting hooked these - very fun !! - I noticed the air ducts, ( or whatever those pipes are?) , were facing forward on three of the original drawings of the models ( The Fire Boat, tow boat & Tug boat ) - where they are the other way on your box; I wonder if one is more correct than the other ? ( not that I intend on changing the direction of them !! )

Ya, I have no clue about boats at all - I wouldn't know the deck from the dick !! - don't worry about any deadlines Jim - just have fun As far as the colors I used, I just mixed them up from the mess of paints I have, and for the car show diorama, that will never be done & that's the way I like it - to be able to change it at will; keeps it interesting to me & fresh

I saw the first two at Rick's recently, I'm totally blown away by the detail of these tiny 'made for kids' vintage kits, I couldn't get over them. They're so real it's incredible.
Great work Rick, very different and interesting to see. Wow.
