OK, this is slight cheat as I built this a while back but it is a drag car, honest. For the unitiated out there this is a full detail (i.e. stupid levels) replica of a 1963 Super Lightweight Galaxie. These barges were the forerunners of the Thunderbolts but, even after an extensive pruning, they were still about the same weight as a Sherman. To give you an idea of the extent of the lunacy, the only parts that I used from the AMT 63 kit were the body (but all the trim lettering is photoetched), the front and rear grilles (more photoetching), the dash/ steering wheel, the rear seat (although I did rework that to get rid of the convertible mechanism inserts) and the "glass" (again, reworked to fit). Yup, I need to get out more.
