Believe it or not, this Ventura was found in the trash,and was seconds away from the crusher! . A buddy of mine who is a garbage man heard the sound of plastic in a garbage bag as he tossed it in the hopper . he pulled it out, and the thing was full of early to mid 70's builds and parts ! No showrods, but plenty to play around with. This was the first one I rebuilt. I think it was painted with craft paint for glass,and it didn't want to come off. The kit is basially an Old Pro Nova kit,and I thought I could swap the front end and tail panel and put it on a Nova kit, but the original builder used a ton of glue and the fenders were permanently glued on, so I had to restore the body. I had to grind the glass out, and fix a chunk that was missing from the rear roof panel.The green paint did something to the plastic, so it took a lot of wet sanding before I got the roughness out. BEAUTIFUL! Really nice save. I had a ‘73 that I turned into GTO. 1 /1 scale. The ‘74 GTO was a Ventura with a Trans AM hood scoop and running gear. Kinda’ like a Nova SS by Pontiac. Man I miss that car.
