My Dad used to have one of these when I was a tad younger (don't ask!) and I used to drive it sometimes and work on it a bit. I always thought back then how cool it would be to hop it up a little. Anyway, this is a little build I thought I'd do, sort of what I would have liked to have done. This would have been done sooner but I took a week and half trying to decide if I should do decals or not. NOT!
I took the AMT '61 Ranchero kit, changed the suspension a bit, boosted the engine, added extended exhausts. Cut a hole in the hood for the stacks, sanded off all the markers, door handles, insignia, everything- I wanted a smooooth body. Added a roll bar, detailed the front grill with black wash, picked out the lights front and rear. Added parts box wheels and tires. Paint is Testor's Burgundy Red Metallic.
