So this is a model that i just recently finished for a local club contest. The contest was a slammer contest. I started with a older resin nova body by Perry's resin. From the start i wanted to use some LEDs on this build. I've actually have seen the nitrous assisted pro mods at night and when there on a good run and really starting to haul the mail there is this cool blue flame that comes out of the pipes clear to the finish line. This is what i wanted to portray on this model. So starting with the body i scratch built a chassis out of styrene that would hold the lights and a battery/switch. BTW thanks go out to crazy Rick for the heads up on the LEDs and where to get them. Them i got some wrinkle wall slicks that i modified to look more authentic and scratch built the base to hold all this stuff. One of the things i wanted portray on this was the car with the front wheels off the ground. Because when these cars are on a nice pass it's not unusual for the front end to be of the ground for a long time. So as i built this thing i made sure it was that way by putting aluminum tubing in the tires and the base to achieve the wheels up attitude. After all the engineering was done i got to do what i like the best PAINTING!!!! A lot of people have asked where i came up with the idea for the paint and all i can tell you is it's been in my head for a long time and i finally got to put it on something. The decals came from the new revell 69 nova kit but i didn't like the colors so i just hand painted the red, orange and yellow so it matched the rest of the car. Well enough blabbing here's the nitrous assisted Pro Mod Nova SUPERNOVA
