I decided I just want to clean it up real good. I might try to make some bumpers for it. It has some glue dripped on it but I don't want to mess with those great decals! Its all here except for the surfers! Started cleaning it and the body came off! I felt like Indiana Jones for a minute. Sorry for the poor photo but if one looks through the blurry windshield, one can see a rectangular steering wheel in there. Was that a La Salle feature? I remember seeing an episode of My Classic Car where a car had one of those in it. The builder did a pretty clean job of building it except for the front wheels. The back one was broken off, I will get them all straight somehow. If you look at the engine, he used a yellow engine out of something else and put the Aurora 409 heads ontop of the other heads. Man this thing must have compression galore!

Cool old model, those must be early dual-plug heads. ;D ;D

That square steering wheel was likely taken (for the model kit) from a 1963 Chrysler 300, my uncle had one back in the day.
BTW I love this model kit, was fortunate enough to get one years ago in nice original built condition from a very good friend who had his own hobby shop, bugged him for years and finally he sold it to me. Built one back in 1966 when they were new, great fun for $1 at the time.
