The Melrose Missile I bought this resin body several years ago when they were first available, I figured this was as good a time as any to get it out and build it. Body, interior tub, and chassis are from Speed City Resin, as are a couple of the engine and tire/wheel parts. Additional parts from a Lindberg ’64 Dodge, and a couple of items from the parts box. Decals from Whoopie Kat. I dug around for as many reference pics on this car as possible, but there really aren’t that many (that I found, anyway), and too many of those are of the same angle, leaving a lot of details in doubt; so this is just a shot at hopefully a fair representation and probably not very accurate. Paint is mostly white and blue, but as for how close this is, forget it. In some pics the blue looks dark, others it looks much lighter, so I just picked a shade. Paint is Classic White and Nassau Blue Metallic. The car seems to have been run in different “versions”. Some pics show a rear spoiler; some without. Sometimes run with some kind of wheelie bars, sometimes without. Same for the wheels, it appears to have had different combinations at different times. Take your pick, I guess. I’m no expert on the car, for sure. So I decided on emulating one with the wheels I liked best, with no spoiler or wheelie bars. I made some mistakes, it’s not my best work; but I think it came out OK. I just thought it was a pretty cool car.
