Is that based on the Revell kit? If it is, it looks a lot better than any other finished version I've seen!

Yes Sir, it is based off the 71 revell kit. I found the body at a swap meet years ago.

that paint is so slick
and a nice overall finish
it's funny you shouds post this l got one off ebay a few weeks ago
for a song
l could be wrong but l think they used the same kit for the Jungle Jims Camaro

Your right Sammy, same kit, different body. They did four kits, a Camaro, pinto, maverick and mustang..

See something new everyday. I did not know about the Maverick version. This is the first one I have ever seen. Nice work. It always takes me a minute to get to your posts. For some reason I could watch that girl climb the stairs all day (avatar). I had to get rid of mine because I would just stare at my own avatar thinking that if I watch long enough her shirt will open all the way. The very definition of insanity.

OK, finally dragged myself away from Sammy's avatar (come on, what did happen next?) when a thought crossed my mind. The Mustang variant of the kit doesn't have any recognisable grille, the front section is completely smoothed off. I know that Funny Car rules can be a bit vague in terms of how closely the body represents an actual car but would a smoothed off front end have actually been legal back in the day?

Oh Ya, the subject ........ !!! - Actually, I think so, I've seen some really radical less known cars that had even more smoother fronts than this - besides that, I think these kits were more about fun, than accuracy |

Hadn't noticed this thread...Beautiful build, love the paint- well done!
I have multiples of this whole series, but the only one I ever got around to building is the Camaro, a couple of different times. You did a great job on the Maverick!
