Why would anyone give you flack about this? It's super tasteful, improves on the looks of the stock Revell offering (the rolled pan and headlight theme has a Sam Barris-like effect on balancing the stance of the car) and impeccably turned out. Nice one, Paul!

Because somebody saw a model built like it in the late 50's R C Little Pages and literally fragged me on the two forums I was in at the time. Even got a letter printed in one of the Mags about "copying" others ideas from the past. I literally stopped building cars and Started my Commercial Truck Model Forum and only built heavy trucks for almost 5 years. Stupid I know.

Paul, take it from me, these "Expert Critics" , are complete assholes, this type of idiot feels that by attempting to belittle others, they will boost their ego - Me, I am very fortunate, I've taught myself to ignore any & all useless criticism, I am always open to constructive criticism, but, I have zero tolerance for jerks who are so small minded & without manners that they have to try to discourage - don't buy into that crap - this is a fantastic model !!! - If you were inspired by the magazine, that's your choice, and besides ........... you put your own talent into it; it's unique, special & one of a kind - I love this - Great, Great build !!!

Ditto, what Rick said! Just because you might have picked up an idea from a magazine don't mean diddly! It's your whole vision, YOUR hard work and skill that went into this, and it's a fine build! I like it, and I don't even build customs! Nice work, and don't give those idiots the time of day!

Not to dwell on the subject .....BUT .... now that I've had time to do a little research on this particular group of "critics" of yours ..... it seems possible that they are natives of a certain jungle village, located in East Africa - named "Douchebaga" .......they have an abnormally small brain & penis, which affects their ego & thus reasoning. In their culture; it is common for them to huddle in circles on Friday, wearing magnifiers, attempting to pinch each others extra small male organs with tweezers made of tree bark & taunt each other...... at the climax of this ceremony; they gather and lay under the rear of elephants, or other large animals. When this tribe migrated to America, within two hours, they sought shelter in their mother's basements, where they remain to this day......they can be ocasionally spotted at model car swap meets.......IF SEEN, GO IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION & WHATEVER YOU DO ,,,,,,,,,,,, DO NOT FEED THEM -

What Rick said, and whoever introduced that tribe to computers and the net needs a swift kick where it hurts.
Great build Paul!

Just looking at this build makes me want to be a Pharaoh with a car coat and a blood initiation and everything. I've never understood people who love to create drama over nit picky sh*t. Like others have said it's a hobby, I don't know anyone who does this for a living. Nice job on the angry Merc, and with a 421 Super Duty under the hood, it would be very angry.

Thanks all!! "this particular group of "critics" of yours ..... it seems possible that they are natives of a certain jungle village, located in East Africa - named "Douchebaga"" BAD JU JU they are The 20 plus negative posts were what got to me, I usually just feel sorry for em, but the bit my ankles up pretty bad Bert, Sam Barris, Joe Ballen(?) and The Pharohs were the main inspiration for this build. Now on to the Merc wagon!!

I think it looks great. Just enough to be custom and not gaudy. Not only that, it’s a very feasible 1/1 build. I could see this on the street. Remember, Those who can't build, become critics.
