restored Deal's Wheels Baja Humbug

I picked this kit up a few years ago at a show. I don't know why it took me years to restore it ! It was brush painted ,but complete . The biggest problem was the glass which had to be cut out of the body. Everything ended up in the ol' Easy Off bucket , and most of the paint came off in the first dip. The paint is Testor's custom lacquer "Star Spangled Blue " over a silver base and then clear coated. The decals were a repro set that I picked up somewhere that turned out to be really nice with no bleed through. This is one of my favorite designs by Dave Deal .

Again, nice job Don! Is that the standard engine setup for this kit, or did you add detail?

Its the standard engine for this and the Glitterbug /Swinehunt kits, wit the exception of the intake pipes, which are for this kit only. The engine parts including the firewall are all chrome, but they have a lot of detail .

Oh yeah- Like hens teeth ! LOL I was pretty lucky to get this one , Its the last one I needed for my Deal's Wheels collection
