All my bike kits haven't been un packed yet, so I can't build a copy of my Sporty I've owned since 1971 So this is what I've got to build. I've started with less. An AMT Honda 750 power pack and tonight I started to fab up an Arlene Ness /Windjammer style AEE style Soft Tail frame for it. No other details have lodged in my head yet, except probably going to make a long Derfy girder for it. Paul Hosted on Fotki

Well since the plastic fabricated frame refused to play nice, it went to the "wall of death to plastic" to think about it's sins. I started a brass frame, but that will be too long a process. Sooooo , we are changing to an odd pattern V.W. trike. I built a similar 1 to 1 one for a customer in the mid 70's. Paul

good start paul is that threat half of a beetle It's actually a copy of a real one I built in 1972, difference with this copy is the 1 to 1 was powered by a 911E Boxer engine with a 5 speed. The only photos of it are/ were over the bar at a place called The Salem In Gentleman's establishment with some neck-edd wimmin's on it.

Geez any tips on handle bars? I must have made 20 sets and tossed them all! Just to fussy maybe? Just can't get the picture in my head to match the plastic.

I prefer using thick fuse wire or thin solder as it's easy to bend and stays shiny but then it's just down to a lot of careful measuring and bending.

like harley l have used solder but if you are building 1/25-1/24 you can use a nickel plated paper clip that works as well

looks great nice idea turned out great l can't believe you drove something like that l don't think you go too fast in it that cab would catch a heap of wind 70 m.p.h. plus on the interstates from Long Island N.Y. to Laconia N.H and Daytona Flordia. The panel below the rear window had five 6 inch holes cut into it to vent trapped air out into the engine compartment and out the grill under the rear glass. Course I was also 20 and stupid fearless.

Liking that a lot! There was trend for them over here a good few years ago (collectively known as "Beach Bastards") and, like Paul says, if you didn't stop to tackle that trapped air around the rear glass, things would get really exciting at speed!
