Thanks guys! The old Impala was one of those low rider slammer kits with stereo stuff and opening trunk. Placed it on '65 Modified Stocker Olds 88 chassis which was a little long, just hogged out the wheel wells a little further back and it seemed to work OK, cars are similar size and proportions.

love them mike always like these cars l have been dying to build a couple l think you got me excited about cracking one open nice builds Thanks, they're put together generally from the parts box, mixtures of many kits whatever parts are needed. Others like the Olds 88 are box-stock some with resin late-model wheels on the kit tires. The Modified Stocker series by AMT were never considered super detailed kits, the '69 Falcon has very little chassis detail at all but all are fun somewhat reminiscent of the old "AMT CRAFTSMAN" kits but with a few more parts. I generally only use 2 of the steamroller tires (on the right side) which gives me more to add to create other cars. Most drivers only used 2 to give the car a conical type rolling of the chassis for the constant left turns. Try rolling a cone of anything on a flat surface and see what happens, automated turns! Many younger modellers think these tires are fictitious...here's an example of an old Pinecrest car.

Thanks Rick! All in fun, I simply try to envision what they looked like in their day and try not to over-think the builds.

Nice builds, and those steamroller tyres are wild.

I remember building those AMT cars as a kid , and when they were reissued I bought (and built) them all again! Back then the modifieds here in in New England mostly old coupe bodies from the 1930s with a few corvair ,falcon and mustang bodied thrown in, so I thought these full bodied cars weren't a real representation of a modified stock car. They looked more like the MPC modifieds that came out a few years later . Of course with computers now I get to see what stock cars looked like all over the country !

I love that, great build, great damage as most of 'em were! As for the steamroller tires, they were standard fare here in Canada from about 1960 to 1970. Then the tires got better and smaller scale, looking more like NASCAR racers.
That chassis is handy for sure, I've got a few spares ready to go. Thanks for posting those pics!
