41 Willys, The Train Wreck. An excersise in paint techniques

This was nothing more then a bunch of paint ideas imwanted to try. Some worked some didn't. I also did it as a bit of dig on a couple other site where the mods are a bunch of stuffed shirts.

There is 40something different colours on there. The checkers where hand cut masking, many of them lifted during the removal as I totally forgot to inter coat the prior colour causing bad adhesion.

I would say ,you nailed the painting techniques pretty darn good. How did you do the leaf?

I don't think you'll too many stuffed shirts around here - although some of us might be stuffed with beer and pizza - but what's not to like about wild and crazy paint?

I used the lace attached with spray adhesive as a template, the water droplet treatment, a light base colour then a dark colour wiped/smudged with a tiny piece of sponge. The roof was 90% covered with liquid latex flicked on with a tooth brush over the green, then black chrome treatment was sprayed. The entire shell was covered in tiny roughly shaped balls then sprayed with Spaz Stix chrome. It wasn't thick enough to get the effect I was going for. The pot leaf was made with a had cut stencil, then a drop shadow was painted around it to give it a floating effect.

I used a fine sharpie for the leaf veins then shaded the rest by hand with an AB.
