I ended up going with this style hinge for 2 doors for my van - because they open upward at a 90 degree angle & would bind - I modified the design slightly, by gluing a small tube on the wire part ( that would normally mount on a hood, etc ) and then, a larger tube that mounts on the door. this allows the smaller to go into that & move as the angle changes; sorta like a shock.

thanks rick I would have to say this looks the easiest Way to make hinges l will try this on a stalled project that l have had For a long time
