Here’s a 1958 Chevy I just finished, this is a model of a real car I remember as a kid seeing it in a few magazines in the early 70’s , car left a big impression on me as a kid of about 12 or 13 years old , plus years later I became good friends with the guy who had painted it , Walt prey was his name , cars name was sun rise sun set , built not exactly as the real car but as close as I could get , tried to lay out the flames as close to possible and hand painted the murals on the side panels, anyway , I’ve thought about building this model for years and finally did it and glad I did! WOW!! I remember that car! Early 70's we had a 63 Impala SS 327/4speed I made into a low rider. At the time probably the only one on Long Island N.Y. WE got every Low Rider mag we could find for ideas and that car was in one issue. My wife wrecked it.

Gary my friend, I have loved this car since I was a kid. Man you did a great job on this build, it`s just as I remember it, and those murals on the sign boards are just killer. Thanks for building a beautiful memory from our kid hood, this is just so cool !! Oh, and when you get the time, paint those murals on some clear decal paper and send them my way, I too have that 58 s.d. and a quart of apricot pearl by Metalflake co. that I`ve had for 40+ years just for this and the Cosma ray...

Thanks guys glad you like this model , yeah 41chevy and big drag I’m so glad you guys remember this car , I guess it made quite the impact on many guys when it was pictured in magazines, it makes me feel very glad that I’m not alone in my admiration for this car , I wonder what ever happened to it ?

There is one in Cali that was just rebuild that looks really close minus the graphics. Could be the same one?
