This is a AMT 57 Chevy, last month I had gone to a model car show where the theme this was Box Stock , I realized I don’t have any box stock builds I’ve done , so when I returned home I thought I need a box stock something for the next show, looking around my model stash I decided on this 57 Chevy, not wanting to build it stock I opted on the Custom version, starting with sanding off all the stock chrome molding and then molding on the custom parts from the kit then primer and a lot of blocking , I chose the base in pearl white and fog it with candy purple, wanting it to look like a car the may have been built in the very early 1960 or so , I added the chrome reverse wheels on the back and keystone wheels on the front , for some reason AMT added an alligator to the kit so I added it also ! In the back window, build was fast, about one week, kinda nice to grab one of the older kits and just slam it together! Hopefully you’ll enjoy, thanks!        |

This really shows the results of what a little cool paint & keeping it simple can do for a model - I really dig the look of this one & that critter is an added bonus !!!   |
