I have a couple of MIB kits of the Wild Dream/Wilhelm's Wonder, but I didn't want to build one of those- I had the perfect candidate. For a long time I've had a partial kit, pieces, unused, banging around in my parts bins. Complete body, frame, interior, no tires, wheels, or engine, and the chrome was so-so. Figured I could do something with it. I substituted parts box tires and wheels, from the Ice Cream Truck- I think it gives it a lower, wider profile that I like. A parts box engine right size. Replacement steering wheel. Painted it yellow instead of the red or lavender/purple, white and green interior instead of black. The chrome sides weren't the best, so I painted them white, give it a kind of two-tone effect. I highlighted the edge of the fins where the white and yellow meet, with Molotov Chrome, but it doesn't look great. Because of the light color, I took pics on both a white and black background. In fact, I have some bitching and moaning to do. I am so UNHAPPY with this build that I almost decided NOT to post it. It is FAR from my best work, nothing but problems with it. I will tell you right now, if you were thinking of buying one of these, DON'T. I normally LOVE MPC kits, but NOT this one! It is poorly designed, parts fit is just plain AWFUL. Gaps, poorly made areas where important parts need to be glued, etc. It's so bad that the MIB kits I've had for decades, I'm considering getting rid of, because I never want to build another of these.

If it's any consolation Dave, I got shot of my Wild Dream kits some time ago for just the reasons you mention - it all looked like way too much hard work for something that I wasn't too keen on anyway. But now, I'm wondering if a course of Brave Pills might have been worth it because that's just a killer build (any chance of some engine shots?). Big thumbs up for what I know was a lot of hard work!

No engine shots Harley- I had to glue the hood down. Can't wait to start something else.

I think it looks awesome from here ! I haven’t seen many of these built ever so seeing yours is very nice to see , I’ve never built one but if it’s really a bad kit to build straight from the box then I think it may be prefect for bashing , prefect color choice and the wheels and tires look great on there , over all I think worth the hassle looks great!

You know duke first off You did an outstanding job On a really terrible kit I tried to build that It's still in the unfinished shelf The changes and mods you did really complement it The color is spot on and the rims and tires are on target I think its one of your best Now take a breath and build something rare and boxstock Good to see you building again
