Dragged it out today as something to finish up during the Nor Easter tonight and tomorrow. Must have started it in the 1980's, even have Testers Roth Surfite Yellow in the box. As long as the lights stay on I'll be at it. Hosted on Fotki

Go Paul go !! - your really blasting away at those cool gems !! It's the 1965 issue kit. Better chrome and plastic than the last run I lost the entire day today with no power from 10 am til 8:40 pm ,high winds and a ton of rain. but a bit on it tonight and the body is painted with official Roth Surfite Yellow, chassis is painted in Black lacquer and the Austin engine is done. Pics tomorrow. Might just finish it by the dead line. Paul

We were talking about this build yesterday! Here is a shot of that Austin Engine/Transmission/Drive assembly that was in that little beast!

That is a pic of a display that is in our Automotive Museum here in Oshawa of the Front Sub-Frame/Engine-Transmission assembly from an Austin Mini like the one used to make the full-size Surfite. Thought it might let you see what Factory colors were used for it and how the prototype assembly looks.
