Just finished this 58 impala for an online contest , the challenge was to build a radical low rider, starting with a free glue bomb AMT 58 impala that a buddy gave me , plus I’ve been wanting to build a bubble top something for awhile, I thought this impala was a perfect candidate, so I stripped the paint off plus all the overly glued parts , cut the roof off , extended the wings , shaved everything, molded the doors and hood on , add the custom front and back panels , taking the bubble top and interior from a revell corvette Indy model kit and Adding em to the 58 , the pearl white and pearl pink , some Jeff Metzger 3D wire wheels , motor is in back behind the driver seat , hydraulic pumps can be seen though the hood , fun build but did take me a little more time than I had hoped, bout a month or so , anyway hope you like ! Wow! Love the idea of having the hydraulic pumps up front, and the paint, and the lines - OK, I love all of it!

Thanks guys, by the way the satin like finish was done by clear coating it first then sanding all that nice shiny clear with 800 wet or dry .

Gorgeous! The paint, of course, but also the work you did in sculptng the fins and the choice of bubble, with its panel details for the door openings and its overall shape - its hard finding a nice bubble shape.
