Another turd gets polished! Just as a reminder, I started with this: And, after a little persuasion, we've got this:

Of course, there's a ton of stuff I now wish I'd done differently (like smooth the paint out better!) but, overall, I think it came out OK. Parts that had to be swapped out were eventually limited to just the centre section of the front axle, the windscreens and side glass, and the rear lights. I did add the plates as it seemed to complete things nicely. I decided against using the fenders and crash bars as they looked wrong and, as I noticed later, the rear wheels aren't centred exactly so would have looked dreadful alongside out of line fenders. I would just add that most of the character lines you can see around the boot/ trunk area which run up and around the car are actually filler - an awful lot of filler! Weirdly, there's some odd inaccuracies in the engine department - it's got two starter motors but no distributor and the fan would neatly slice through the top radiator hose (there's no lower hose though)! Finally, this isn't really a '32 Sport Coupe at all (as Monogram advertised it), it's really a '32 Coupe with sporting pretensions - a proper '32 Sport Coupe is a sort of semi convertible affair but with rigid side windows, a very different beast.

How I missed this I don’t know, I really like this issue of the monogram kit, this has to be one of the top 5 I’ve ever seen built, it’s awesome! I

Even though a lot of the alternative parts that came with the pile were sort of useable, I like the stripped back look and went for that - ready for the strip or some cruising.
