I'm putting this in the Tribute section as:
i) I spent a lot of time trying to explain to Rick what the metallic finish on this puppy looked like, and how it had been achieved (at least three layers of electro plating as far as I can tell), and
ii) when Rick passed, I made a promise to myself that I would go the extra mile and make it really special - you guys can judge how successful I was on that front.
As far as the bike goes, I've always been a sucker for "Because we can" vehicles. Cars or bikes that make no sense in the real world but manufacturers make 'em anyway. Kawasaki went nuts with the first incarnation of this bike: a 310hp, track-only, 1,000cc, supercharged monster capable of 260 mph. The road version (which we have here) is slightly more sensible in that it "only" has 210hp but will still put you on the far side of 200mph if your right hand and underwear is up to it.
Yes, it is as ugly as sin but I'd have one in a heartbeat if I ever got the chance - just Because!
