I like building model cars from nicely sealed kits, all the parts in a box fresh and untouched, But I Love building someone’s else’s old prior started or built model car, something I can carefully take apart, strip the paint, clean up and make my own, I get a bigger satisfaction from building something from a rebuilder than I do with a brand new kit, my mom use to say I was a gluten for punishment, but I cant help it I like the challenge, such is the case with this jo-Han 1960 Desoto, I traded a couple of models for this built up model with my buddy Scott, the model wasn’t all that bad of a built up and looked good from a far but far from looking good, i loved the sides and quarter panel fins and tail lights but I hated the front grille and front and rear bumpers, so after the tear down and paint strip, I reworked the front of the hood and rolled the lower front and rear panels and added new grille and bumpers from the parts box, shaved everything not needed, primed and painted pearl white and a candy purple fade, wheels and tires are from the predicta monogram kit, spot lights from parts box , everything else plus motor are original jo-Han kit, fun build to do, thanks for looking!! Gary.
