The first drag race I saw in person was in April 1960 at Amarillo Dragway ... for a 13 year old kid I was more than impressed ... the Top Eliminator that day was a little single engine Chevrolet powered Dragmaster driven by Jim Nelson ... I have tried to replicate the little car that hooked me on drag racing

The basic body and chassis came from the Revell Attempt 1 kit, everything else came from a Tony Nancy kit and from my parts box ... the little red dragster outran Raymond Godman's Tennessee Boll Weevil A/MR for the title that day
