Messerschmitt Me 262...Schwalbe (Swallow) or the fighter-bomber, Sturmvogel (Stormbird). Design work started before WWll but didn't become operational until mid 1944. Faster and better armed than the Allies planes, but it was too little, too late (thankfully for us!).
