Surf Roadster The roadster body style is one of the options in the Surf Woody, I just took it a little farther. I glued shut the hood and headlight nose, and molded all into one piece. I modified the rear grate to fill the rear end. I wanted to paint it Testors Dark Cherry, like I did with the Cherry Bomb I built; but lately, I've had problems with Testors' crappy cans, and that happened here. I tried to sand and polish out the paint, no dice. Sanded and reprimed it. Tamiya doesn't have that color so I sort of created it- shot a Pure Blue base, overcoated with Transparent Red. Close enough, and the Tamiya came out nice, I'm happy with it. I created the pipes out of ink pen innards painted chrome. My thanks to Joe for my supply of Richard Carroll tires! I created the wheels by using 2 sets of deep dish wheels, using a dremel to hollow out one set leaving me with deep chrome rings to extend the wheels. This has been an idea on my project list for decades, finally got it done. Some one else may have done something like this in all those years, but in any rate, this is mine. Hope you like it, comments welcome!
