Northrop N-9MA, this was a test aircraft for flying properties, mostly 1942-43, in advance of the XB-35 and YB-35 flying wings.












I noticed in the last pic, one landing gear looks off- it's not, it's just the camera angle.

Very nice build Dave ... one of Jack Northrup's many oddball's. It's strange to me that Northrup could produce some good airplanes (F-5, T-38, P-61, F-89, F-20), yet he seemed obsessed with oddballs, some of which (but not all) turned out to be deadly (YB-35, YB-49, XP-79, XP-56, JB-1, X-4). I've just not been able to understand his obsession with such weird designs.

Beautiful build sir, quite impressive. Hope to see more of your aircraft builds.
