... this was a car built for a club project many years ago ... one of our members collected a number of models built by kids that were left as unwanted after a show he attended ... he put them in boxes, sealed the boxes, and then numbered each of the boxes ... he brought them (12) to one of our meetings and made up slips numbered 1 through 12 ... we then blindly drew a slip from a cigar box ... our task was to re-build the kit and have it ready for presentation by our next meeting in two weeks ... we could supplement parts from our own stashes, but the basic car had to be the one drawn from the cigar box ...
... the kit I drew was a purple and green Buick Riviera low rider (oh whoopie) ... being as how I build mostly race cars, this is what I was able to cobble together ... a small block Buick powered F/G Riviera using my Don Williamson / Hairy Canary decals ... only 3 of the 10 guys who drew a number and got a model completed them on time ...
... it was a bizarre (but fun) meeting the next time to see what we all had come up with ... and this thing was so ugly that I just had to keep it in my collection ...
