This build is based on the original Funny Hugger. This is not in any way a replica of any of the versions of the Super Camaro, it's MY take on A version of the 1:1 car, basically because of the paint. I bought several of these when they came out in '69, I built one right away. I think I was 12 or 13. Still just getting used to using spray paint, it was a kind of maroon- matte, I didn't know how to make gloss finishes then. I remember it just didn't sit right, I didn't understand why then, I do now! I'm sure it hasn't been changed much when they reissued it as the Funny Hugger II. The tin work doesn't fit right in the body, required massive surgery to get everything to sit right. Built boxstock, except I changed out the wheels and tires for better ones. I can't remember who produced the decals, been in my stash a while. Paint is Tamiya Champagne Gold with Testor's Black accent. Wet look clear.
Hope you like it, comments welcome!

Nice looking build! I think it's fair to say the artist for the original box art took a few liberties with the front end (actually that completely blacked out look is pretty cool)!

Gorgeous build Dave ... I remember that kit well ... I messed it up at least once ... the paint work is outstanding and the decals fit the car very well ... you may not have known how to get a gloss finish back in '69, but you surely do now ... again Dave, a super build
