I have a LOT of ideas on my project list. Rick was amazed that I had binders of projects. I'd think of something, run off a pic of perhaps a kit I would use as a starting point, then jot down on the page changes/modifications or surgery that I'd do to it, what wheels or tires, engine, paint ideas. Add it to a binder, to get to at some time. I've done this for DECADES. When I was ready to build something, I'd flip through them to see what grabbed my interest at the moment to build. It's the same with planes, except no modifications, just camo ideas for different types.
This was an idea I'd left in the binders that I just never got around to building; I've built several projects with the Richard Carroll tires from Joe, and several more to come.
This Amazing Moon Mixer by Scott Colmer (at both the C.C. and Spotlight Hobby) came out on the cover of Model Cars Magazine (which he then put on the C.C.) was like a kick in the butt for me.
My project in the binders wasn't the Moon Mixer, but part of that Revell series- the T-Bone Stake, to build as the P/Up version, with RICHARD CARROLL TIRES! So Scott's build really jogged my memory, which I told him. He and I both got our tires from Joe at around the same time, a long time ago. His build is just beautiful, his scratch building and detail is always "wow!" level. I'm not copying Scott, my own project isn't comparable, it's rather basic and boxstock. Still, it had been on my list a long time, and now that it was back on my mind, I wanted to get it done and off the list before I let it go to the wayside.

Boxstock, with the exception of those great Richard Carroll tires from Joe (thanks again Buddy!). Paint is Tamiya Racing Blue with gold pin striping. You can build it with the stakes, or the pickup box with a tonneau cover- which I prefer. Chrome wheels made by combining 2 sets of deep chrome wheels. I did end up building a rear stabilizer bar to help with those big tires. When I opened my mint kit, imagine my surprise to find that the fenders were twisted beyond my ability to straighten them; fortunately, I got a pair of used but serviceable fenders in a trade, a little sanding, and I was in business. That was not the last of my trouble; when I was just about finished, I fumbled and dropped it, breaking the body off the chassis and into pieces, requiring repair and some repaint.
After years forgotten on the project list, hope you like it.
