[glow=red,2,300]PEGASUS!!![/glow] Pegasus is a Anti-Gravity Racer with Pod Racer Engines. The Most of the parts are from the Monogram Mustang GTP Kit. The Engines are from the AMT Star Wars Pod Racer Kit. I am going to take the Intakes from the Jet and modify them to fit the Mustang... I cut the front of the Mustang off with a razor saw and got the Intakes off of the old plane without breaking them! With a little trimming I got the Intakes to fit! More Coming...

Next I cut 2 pieces of plastic to fill in the areas on the tops of the Intakes... Then I cut 2 more pieces of plastic, to fill in the bottoms on the Intakes... More Coming...

Hey Ira Have you made any more progress on this ?
I'm amazed at how you could imagine the Intakes from a Phantom fitting so well onto the fronts of that Mustang !! Great Project.

[glow=red,2,300]BiG MUSTANG GRILL!!![/glow] I am using an 1/16th scale 1964 Mustang Grill, with "Floating" Horse Emblem for the Pegasus! I had to reduce it's width a little bit. I cut a piece of plastic to mount the New Hood to and glued it in place... After a lot of planning & figuring I found the best position for the Grill and glued it in place! More Coming...

[glow=red,2,300]BiG MUSTANG HOOD!!![/glow] I'm using the hood from an AMT 1/16th scale 1964 Mustang for the Pegasus... I measured the size I need and cut it out of the BiG Hood. Here is the New Hood glued in place! I cut a piece of sheet plastic for a Front Pan for the Pegasus and glued it in place... I cut 2 small strips of plastic and glued them at both ends of the Grill to finish it off! More Coming...

[glow=red,2,300]BACK DOOR MUSTANG!!![/glow] The Pegasus will have a BiG Jet Engine on each side of the body, blocking the doors, so I'm going to put in a Rear Door in for Driver Access! I drew 2 lines from the rear window back. Then I drew 2 more lines about 1/8th inch wider at the rear. I will cut on the outside lines... I marked the underbody with the same shape as above except, its about 3/8th inches shorter... I used a Zona Saw and cut out the rear deck. Then I cut out the underbody section with a Zona Saw and X-Acto Knife. Here is the Body/Underbody Test Fit... It Fits!

[glow=red,2,300]FABRICATION...[/glow] I cut ot 2 pieces of sheet plastic to fill in the Cut-Out Area. I glued them to the Body, but not the Underbody...yet. I cut out a Door Frame and fit it in place, no glue on this piece yet. Side View... Top... [glow=red,2,300]What Next???[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]MAKIN' ROOM FOR THE BiG ONES!!![/glow] I'm cutting away more body and undrbody to make room foor the Engines. I cut about 3/16th of an inch off the both edges of the Underbody including the 2 Fins... I cut out 2 New Larger Under Fins from sheet plastic... Here are the New Under Fins glued in place! Next I cut out more of the underbody to make room for the Engines. I cut a little too much from the body so I put in a 1/4 inch patch. That should be enough room...
